Claude made my landing page. How do I get it live on my own domain?

Quick answer

Put the page's HTML on a host, then add the DNS records it gives you where your domain is managed. On Convika's Free plan, that's a CNAME and a TXT record for 1 subdomain such as www.yourbrand.com, plus an A record that redirects the bare yourbrand.com to it. SSL is issued for you; you pay only for the domain.

Publish my page on my domain

Free plan: no credit card, 1 custom subdomain, 1 published page.

On this page

Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini wrote you a landing page, and you own yourbrand.com. Getting the page to open at www.yourbrand.com takes 3 things on any host: a place that serves the HTML, 2 or 3 DNS records at the company that runs your domain's DNS, and an HTTPS certificate, which every host in this guide issues for you.

The hard part is rarely the records. It's picking a host whose free plan lets you use the page the way you mean to, and knowing what happens to the bare yourbrand.com. This guide covers both, then walks through the 5 steps on Convika's Free plan.

What you need before you start

  • A domain you own. Convika doesn't sell domains. Buy one from a registrar such as Namecheap, GoDaddy, Cloudflare, or Squarespace. That yearly fee goes to the registrar and is separate from Convika's Free plan.
  • Access to the domain's DNS settings. That's usually the registrar's dashboard. If you moved DNS to Cloudflare or another provider, it's there. For a company domain, ask whoever manages it to add 2 records.
  • The page as one HTML file or as copied code. If the AI gave you a React component, ask it first: “Convert this to a single HTML file with the CSS and JavaScript inline, no build step.” For each AI's export steps, see publish a Claude artifact, publish ChatGPT's HTML, or publish a Gemini Canvas.

Already have a site on www? Pick a new subdomain such as go.yourbrand.com or lp.yourbrand.com. Pointing www at a new host replaces what opens there, on Convika and on every other host in this guide.

Free hosts with a custom domain, compared

We read each vendor's own documentation on October 28, 2026. Each page's own date is in the sources list at the end.

The records each host asks for, if your domain's DNS stays where it is:

HostFor www or another subdomainFor the bare yourbrand.com
ConvikaA CNAME, plus a TXT record that proves you control the domainAn A record to the IP address Convika shows; it redirects to www (details below)
VercelA CNAME to your project's own value, such as d1d4fc829fe7bc7c.vercel-dns-017.comAn A record, 76.76.21.21 for most projects (A records)
Cloudflare PagesA CNAME to <your-site>.pages.dev, added after the domain is in the Pages dashboardOnly as a Cloudflare zone, with your nameservers moved to Cloudflare, which moves all of your domain's DNS
GitHub PagesA CNAME to <user>.github.io4 A records, 185.199.108.153 to 185.199.111.153; GitHub redirects between the bare domain and www
NetlifyA CNAME to your netlify.app subdomainAn ALIAS, ANAME, or flattened CNAME to apex-loadbalancer.netlify.com, or an A record to 75.2.60.5 (external DNS)

All 5 connect a domain you own without charging for it. Each one's free plan has a different catch:

  • A page that sells something. Vercel defines commercial use to include “advertising the sale of a product or service,” so a shop or service landing page needs Vercel Pro (fair use guidelines, Sep 14, 2026). GitHub says Pages is “not intended for or allowed to be used as a free web-hosting service” for an online business or an e-commerce site. For what each host's terms say about business use, see free hosting for a business site and Vercel Hobby and commercial use.
  • The bare domain. GitHub Pages, Netlify, and Vercel serve yourbrand.com from your current DNS provider. Cloudflare Pages does once your domain's nameservers are Cloudflare's. Convika redirects it to www.
  • A form that keeps signups and a count of visitors. None of the 4 docs above includes these on the free plan with no setup. On Convika Free, the visit stats come with the page, and you add a form that stores entries from the page's screen with Add a form to my page. For forms and stats host by host, see free landing page hosting with a form.

Every option needs the page as a file. Vercel, Cloudflare Pages, and GitHub Pages also want a project or a repository around it. Convika takes the HTML file or the pasted code as it is. For Netlify's domain costs in detail, see custom domains on Netlify's free plan.

Connect your domain in 5 steps

Publish the page on Convika for free

Switch the box at the top of this page to Paste code and paste the AI's code, or drop the .html file. Click Get my preview link and check the page. Click Keep this page — free, no card to create your account, and the page lands in your dashboard.

On the page's screen, click Publish page. Under Who can open this page?, choose Public and click Next. The first time, click Publish free. The page is live at once at an address like yourpage.convika.page, with the Convika bar at the bottom. Under that button, Publish without the Convika bar opens an order for Pro monthly: 1 day free with a card, then $12 a month.

Add your domain

On the page's screen, find the Custom domain card and click Connect my domain. Convika opens Add domain for that page. You can also open Sites in the sidebar and click Connect a custom domain.

In Domain, type www.yourbrand.com. Under Addresses we'll connect, Convika shows the host it will connect, marked Main. Under Page, check that your page is picked. It goes at /, the top of the address. Click Add domain.

Add the CNAME and TXT records

Convika opens the host's DNS tab. Under DNS setup, it lists the records to add, each with a Name and a Value. Copy both into your DNS provider's settings.

  • CNAME record: the name is www.yourbrand.com, and the value looks like yourpage.convika.com. The value ends in convika.com even though your page is on convika.page, and that's correct.
  • TXT record: the name is _convika-verify.www.yourbrand.com, and the value starts with cvk-domain-verify=. It proves you control the domain's DNS.

Set TTL to Auto or 300 seconds. Many DNS dashboards add your domain to the name for you. There, type only www and _convika-verify.www, or you end up with www.yourbrand.com.yourbrand.com. The DNS tab keeps the values, so you can come back to copy them.

Click Check status

After you save the records, click Check status. The host shows Waiting for DNS until Convika finds them, then Connected. The certificate goes from Certificate pending to Certificate active. Convika's screen says DNS changes take “a few minutes to 48 hours,” and the certificate “usually takes a few minutes.”

If it still says Waiting for DNS, wait and click Check status again. Come back within 72 hours of adding the domain: in the dashboard's words, “An unverified domain is released on its own 72 hours after it was added.” If that happens, add it again and put the new TXT value in your DNS.

Open your domain

Open https://www.yourbrand.com on your phone and your computer. The page shows the Convika bar, as it does at its Convika address, which keeps working. If you added a Convika form, send one test entry and check that it arrives in your dashboard. A form the AI wrote usually sends nowhere: fix a form that doesn't work.

Can the page open at yourbrand.com, without www?

It redirects there. Type yourbrand.com or www.yourbrand.com in Domain and Convika connects both. Under Addresses we'll connect, it shows www.yourbrand.com marked Main and the line “yourbrand.com redirects to www.yourbrand.com.” Your page opens at www.yourbrand.com, and anyone who opens yourbrand.com lands on the same path there. That's true on every plan, and the pair counts as one domain.

To start the redirect, add the records under Redirect the address without www on the host's DNS tab, along with the CNAME and TXT records:

  • A record: the name is @ (blank or yourbrand.com on some dashboards), and the value is the IP address Convika shows. Replace any A record that's already there.
  • Remove any AAAA record on @, and any URL forwarding at your registrar.
  • If your DNS is on Cloudflare, set this A record and the www CNAME to DNS only, the grey cloud.

Once DNS updates and www.yourbrand.com is connected, the certificate for yourbrand.com is issued for you on the first visit to it, and Address without www on the domain's screen says Redirecting after that visit or after you click Check status. A leftover AAAA record, or a CAA record that doesn't allow Let's Encrypt, shows Not verified with what to fix.

If yourbrand.com already shows another site, the window says so and lets you keep it as it is, which connects www.yourbrand.com only and is picked to start with, or connect it too and redirect it. Redirecting means the site at yourbrand.com stops showing. You can switch later with Connect to Convika on the domain's screen. A domain you connected before this redirect existed shows Connect to Convika there too.

If you need the bare domain to show the page itself, GitHub Pages, Netlify, and Vercel do it with the records in the table above. Netlify recommends a subdomain as the primary domain when your DNS stays with another provider.

If the domain won't connect

  1. The record type. Use a CNAME record, which points to a name, not an A record, which points to an IP address.
  2. An old A or AAAA record on the same name. It conflicts with the CNAME. Delete it first. If it serves your current site, use a new subdomain instead.
  3. The name field. Check that your DNS dashboard didn't add your domain twice.
  4. Cloudflare's orange cloud. If your DNS is on Cloudflare, set the record's proxy status to DNS only, the grey cloud. The orange cloud can stop the certificate from being issued.
  5. Not propagated yet. Records you just saved can take a while. Wait, then click Check status again.

Under DNS provider guides, the DNS tab links the official help for Cloudflare, AWS Route 53, GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains / Squarespace, Vercel, and others.

www.yourbrand.com and go.yourbrand.com count as 2 domains. One domain can still hold more pages, each at its own path such as www.yourbrand.com/event: on a page's screen, under Addresses, click Add an address. On Free, 1 page can be published at a time. Free includes 10,000 page views a month across your pages, and the pricing page has the rest of the plan.

To fix the page later without changing the address, upload the corrected HTML as a new version: see update an AI-made page without changing its URL.

Ask your AI to connect it

If you've added Convika to Claude, ChatGPT, or another MCP client (how to connect), ask in the chat. Replace the domain with yours:

Publish this page at https://www.yourbrand.com/ and tell me the DNS records to add.

The AI assigns the address to the page through Convika and replies with the CNAME and TXT values. After you save them, ask “Is my domain connected yet?” and it checks the DNS and certificate status.

Frequently asked questions

What's the easiest way to get a Claude landing page live on my own domain?

Publish the page's code on a host that takes one HTML file, then add the host's DNS records. On Convika, paste the code, click Publish free, then add www.yourbrand.com with Connect my domain on the page's screen. Add the CNAME and TXT records it shows at your DNS provider, and click Check status. The certificate is issued automatically, and Free includes 1 custom subdomain.

Can I use a custom domain for free?

Yes. Convika Free, Vercel Hobby, Cloudflare Pages, GitHub Pages, and Netlify Free all connect a domain you own at no charge. You still pay your registrar for the domain itself. The free plans differ on business use: Vercel Hobby is “non-commercial, personal use only,” and GitHub Pages isn't for an online business. Convika's Free page shows the Convika bar.

Do I have to buy the domain separately?

Yes, from a registrar such as Namecheap, GoDaddy, Cloudflare, or Squarespace. Convika doesn't sell domains. The price depends on the registrar and on the ending, such as .com or .co, so check it before you buy.

How long does a custom domain take to start working?

Usually minutes, up to 48 hours. Convika's screen says DNS changes take “a few minutes to 48 hours,” and the certificate “usually takes a few minutes” after that. GitHub's docs say DNS changes “can take up to 24 hours,” and Netlify's say “It may take a full day.” On Convika, click Check status within 72 hours of adding the domain.

Can my page open at yourbrand.com, without www?

It redirects to www.yourbrand.com. On Convika, typing yourbrand.com or www.yourbrand.com connects both: the page opens at www.yourbrand.com, and yourbrand.com sends visitors there once you add an A record for @ with the IP address Convika shows. If your DNS is on Cloudflare, set it to DNS only. GitHub Pages, Netlify, and Vercel can serve the bare domain itself.

Does the Convika bar go away on my own domain?

No. On Free, the Convika bar shows at the bottom of the page on your domain as well as at its Convika address. Pro, at $12 a month, publishes without it.

Can I put a ChatGPT or Gemini page on my domain the same way?

Yes. The steps don't depend on which AI wrote the page. Copy its code, or download the .html file, publish it on Convika, and connect the domain. ChatGPT's and Gemini's own share links stay on their own addresses: see publish ChatGPT's HTML and publish a Gemini Canvas.
